Indoor Curling
Naseby Indoor Curling Rink is the only indoor facility dedicated to curling in the Southern Hemisphere! This is your chance to try one of Central Otago’s oldest and most iconic winter sports.
Indoor Curling is a lot easier than you may think! Forget the professionals! Curling is for everyone! Bring your whole family and head down to the rink.
The art of curling requires no significant strength, and is easy to master. Every curler first sits down in the warm viewing lounge to watch a brief DVD about curling and the safety aspects involved. After that, you can head down to the ice rink for some curling fun!
The Indoor Curling Rink is open 10.00am to 5.00pm, 7 days a week. We can open early or stay late by arrangement and are open for evening curling most nights during summer.
Prices
$15.00 per Adult per hour
$10.00 per Secondary Student per hour
$6.00 per Primary Student per hour
$43.00 Family Rate (2 adults & 3 children) per hour
Try one or all three of the curling delivery techniques!
- The stick delivery is perfect for small children, those with disabilities,
in wheelchairs, or who have trouble crouching down
- The standing delivery is great for all ages!
- If you fancy a bit more action, try the slide.
This involves a slide shoe which allows you to slide along with the stone, before letting it go!
Facts
- Four sheets of ice - book a sheet for a minimum of one hour
- Each sheet acts as a lane for your curling game
- A maximum of eight people per sheet
- At any one time 32 people can curl in our indoor rink
- All equipment is provided
- Warm clothing can be hired or bought at the Pro Shop
- Changing rooms and bathrooms are available for your convenience
Curl in Summer!
Curling is not only for winter, but is a great way to cool off during the hot Central Otago summer months! Have a game of curling, followed by a BBQ or a glass of wine, on our lounge-bar deck.
Prefer to watch the action?
If you prefer to watch the action, sit in our warm lounge bar which overlooks the rinks. We have screens which show live action from the far side of the rink. Enjoy a hot coffee, a snack or a cold drink from our fully licensed bar.
Changing rooms
We have full changing rooms and toilets, to allow you to easily change into your winter woolies!
